Council is seeking a motivated professional with suitable qualifications and experience to join our Environmental Management team and implement best practice management for the control of priority weeds and preservation of our local natural resources.
- Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week).
- Commencing salary at $2,582.98 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,099.58 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

Your new role:
As a Vegetation Management Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking inspections on public and private lands for priority weeds and enforcing provisions of the Biosecurity Act 2015 when required.
- Identifying weeds and providing specialist technical expertise to land managers in relation to weed control techniques.
- Enhancing community knowledge on weed related matters by developing and sharing educational material and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Controlling priority weeds on council's own land.
What you will need to succeed:
- Qualifications and/or experience in Horticulture, Conservation or similar related discipline (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in identification and control of weeds including the operation and maintenance of powered weed spraying equipment.
- Good computer skills and the ability to use electronic mapping systems in the field.
- Class C Driver's Licence (LR Licence or higher is desirable).
- General Construction Induction Training Card.
- AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
- SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) or willingness to obtain.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Q-Fever and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
