Build on your core business services skills whilst utilising and developing your corporate finance experience.

I am seeking an enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join the team at my client's Brisbane CBD office. This is a dynamic role where you will have exposure to a diverse range of high-quality, large clients, allowing you to apply and build on your experience in taxation, accounting, and business services but also in corporate finance and transaction services.

The role sits within the Business Advisory division and comes with added opportunity to be deeply involved in various corporate finance engagements such as Valuations, Buy-side and Sell-side due diligence, capital raisings, financial modelling, mergers and acquisitions, and business case development, over time.

This position would be perfect for someone whom is an experienced business services and tax accountant who is also passionate about building on their experience and knowledge in commercial analysis and general industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities:

Ownership of client engagements and assisting with management of junior staff members

Preparation of income tax returns, financial statements, BAS & IAS

Providing advice and assistance in relation to a range of taxation matters including FBT, CGT, income tax and GST

Assist with drafting detailed written advice

Review client accounting records in MYOB, Quickbooks, Xero, etc. to provide accurate and timely management reports

Regular contact with clients and regulatory bodies

Preparation of invoices, budgets and proposals

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public practice accounting

Excellent data and analytical skills

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Good knowledge of tax legislation, accounting standards and business services compliance

Strong interpersonal skills

Exceptional time management skills

Self-starter that takes ownership of their work, is open to feedback and has a willingness to learn

Critical thinker with commercial acumen

Demonstrated ownership of client responsibilities

High attention to detail

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with MYOB AE, System Release, all client versions of MYOB and Xero, as well as the Microsoft Office suite
