Night Pick Packing Team Leader required

Fergys Food, located in Dandenong South, is a supplier of quality fresh baked goods 6 days a week to restaurants, hotels, cafes, caterers and special events throughout Melbourne. Our range includes delicious fresh sourdough breads, pastries, cakes and slices.

We require a Team Leader/Supervisor to co-ordinate the picker packing process, supervising a team of up to 8 staff. This is a hands-on role.

Hours: approximately 5pm to 1.30 am, Monday - Friday.

You will have:

· Previous team leader experience

· Previous pick packing experience

· An understanding of food handling and good food handling practice

· Have empathy for food products as many products can be fragile or require special handling

· Great organisational and process management skills

· Be able to deal with fast paced dynamic processes

· Happy to deal with detail ensuring packing & despatch lists are completed correctly

· High accuracy and attention to detail - Remember that our customers depend on this team to get the details right so they can open their business on time and provide great product to their customers

· Positive attitude, good communication skills, and good level of the English language

· Able to hold the team to our OHS standards and protocols.

· Great numeracy skills

· Your own transport

· Fit and able bodied, able to lift 15 kg repeatedly.

The role entails:

· Setting up for the nightly processes

o Laying out products and allocating manpower to each process

§ Bread slicing

§ Prepacking products

§ Dealing with fresh baked items as they come from the oven

§ Plan & allocate workloads to maximise efficiency & deadlines

· Keeping packers on target to meet time deadlines for despatching delivery runs

· Completing run manifests so drivers are clear on what to load

· Rostering staff over 7 days

· Maintain OHS protocols

· Training is provided.

· The successful candidate will start initially as a team member, and be trained in our processes and extensive product range. Once successful, then training as the Team Leader/Supervisor will commence.
