The People Portfolio at UniSQ plays a key role in shaping and supporting a culture and work environment which puts people at the centre of organisational design, function and decision making. Under the direction of the Director (Workplace Relations and Operations), the Consultant (Workplace Relations) provides expert, timely advice on complex workplace relations matters, promotes understanding of statutory obligations to reduce industrial risks, and proactively supports a modern, compliant workplace relations framework at the University.

Who you are

You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in law or industrial relations and have experience in workplace relations within the private or public sector. You possess a strong understanding of the Australian industrial relations framework, including employment-related legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements. Your interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills are highly developed, enabling you to communicate effectively, resolve workplace issues, and build strong relationships.

What you'll do

You will provide expert advice and support to senior staff, managers, and employees on complex workplace and industrial relations matters, including grievances, performance, and conduct issues. You’ll interpret and apply the University’s Enterprise Agreement and relevant legislation, draft documentation to support case resolution, and assist in negotiating and implementing the Enterprise Agreement. You’ll prepare high-quality written reports, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and develop educative materials or training on workplace relations topics. You’ll also support policy review and administration, establish professional links, and represent the University externally when required.

Salary: Total remuneration range $133,806 to $153,649 pa (includes salary range of $112,845 to $129,580 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
