Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team and help provide Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across various locations in the Geelong region.
Key Responsibilities
As a SIL Support Worker, you will be required to assist individuals with:
Personal care assistance (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming) in line with individual care plans
Daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, and household duties
Supporting skill development – shopping, cooking, catching public transport
Transport to appointments and community activities
Supporting social and community participation, including personal development and social events
Managing challenging behaviours and assessing/managing risk in critical situations
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with NDIS and organisational policies
Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care
Adhering to all health and safety protocols to ensure participants well-being
Essential Criteria
Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent qualification
Current NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate – “Quality, Safety & You”
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Clear National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Valid Driver’s License (essential)
Previous experience in disability support or care work
Strong understanding of the NDIS, person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and positive behaviour support
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and committed to improving lives
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Highly Desirable
Experience working in a residential/SIL setting
Experience implementing intensive and complex behaviour supports
Employment Type & Availability
Casual position based in the Geelong region
You will work across various SIL settings
Minimum availability of two sleepover shifts per fortnight is essential
Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
