About this role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Trainee Meat Department Manager to join our Spudshed team!

You'll embark on an exciting few weeks of training alongside an experience team possibly located at Stirling. Upon completion of your training, you will be allocated to one of our Northern suburb store locations!

As a Meat Department Manager, you will be able to work in a fast-paced environment as well as having excellent leadership skills to train and develop a new team.

Our aim is to make our Customers and Employees experience at Spudshed a welcoming and engaging one!

Responsibilities:

Meat Department Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Meet rostering requirements, daily sales targets and expense controls.

Monitoring quality control, wastage and shrinkage. Bringing awareness to your team about seasonal. environmental or current quality related issues within the department.

If required, inspect all stock that arrives shelf ready from centralised factory.

Stock management, checking deliveries to ensure store requirements are fulfilled.

Pro-actively meeting, improving and engaging your team on store presentation standards.

Supporting our customers’ needs though excellent service.

Support Dairy/Freezer department as required.

About you:

One day of the weekend included in your regular roster.

Butcher trade/knife experience favourable, however, must be experienced with retail ready meat products.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be prepared to work in cold conditions within the freezer section.

Physically fit; regular heavy lifting/bending.

Basic computer skills required.

Strong analytical and problem solving.

Strong leadership skills.
