Data Modeller required to lead the development of logical and physical ERDs and define standards for a new data lake for a financial services business.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and model data sources, documenting the data consumed and provided
• Build Entity Relationship Diagrams for our data landscape and target databases.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand how data is used and consumed.
• Develop SQL queries and test artefacts to validate data pipelines against requirements.
• Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions for Data Engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Architects, and Engineers to validate design decisions.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and pipeline builds in non-production environments.
• Help embed data as a strategic asset, enabling AI-ready and trusted datasets.

What we’re looking for

• Strong knowledge of data modelling methodologies (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0, BI principles).
• Hands-on experience using tools such as Erwin (or similar).
• Excellent SQL skills for exploration, testing, and validation.
• Proven experience working with Data Engineers to prototype models and guide designs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical to business language.
• Experience in complex data environments including ETL/integration, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Lakehouses.
• Familiarity with CRM, ERP, APIs, JSON, flat files, and RDBMS data sources.
• Knowledge of Agile ways of working, DataOps/DevOps practices, and CI/CD.
• Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau preferred).
• A self-starter with curiosity, adaptability, and attention to detail.
