As our Production Kitchen Supervisor (PM Shift), you’ll lead a crew of around 20 to make sure products are prepped, assembled, and finished within allocated production times. It’s not about shouting or chaos; it’s about running a tight, organised shift where everyone knows what to do and gets it done.
The Products & Prep You’ll Oversee
On the PM shift, your team prepares the bulk of next-day catering and retail items, including:
Salad bowls and salad platters
Breakfast pots (bircher, chia puddings, yoghurts, fruit cups)
Grazing and fruit platters
Fresh snack pots (dips, cut fruit & veg)
Bakery and dessert items
Prep work involves chopping, portioning, and batching fresh produce and proteins to recipe specs; roasting simple components (chicken, eggs, vegetables, grains, pasta); and assembling at scale using production line systems — making sure every item looks and tastes as it should.
What Success Looks Like
By 3 Months:
Fully own the PM shift — accountable for quality, output, compliance, and crew performance.
Keep labour costs on budget from day one.
Develop at least 2 effective Team Leaders.
By 6 Months:
Consistently achieve ≥96% recipe adherence.
Build a capable supervisory team with a reliable 2IC.
Keep production running smoothly even with last-minute changes.
By 12 Months:
Sustain ≥98% recipe adherence and zero food safety non-conformances.
Lead a stable crew with ≥4 long-term Team Leaders and a fully trained 2IC.
Be recognised across Feedwell for running one of our most structured, high-performing shifts.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
2–3 years leading shifts/teams (15–20 staff) in kitchens, catering, or food production.
Experience supervising casual staff, many without professional cooking backgrounds, and training them into reliable performers.
Practical rostering and labour management experience.
HACCP food safety knowledge.
Strong communication and team leadership skills.
Motivation to enforce systems and deliver consistent results — not chase creativity.
Comfortable with PM shifts and hands-on leadership.
The Environment
We’re a high-volume, fast-moving production kitchen. The crew are mostly casuals, many without professional cooking backgrounds — but with the right leadership and our structured system, they become a solid, reliable team.
Part of your role is to trial and train new candidates, building them up into dependable crew members. Your job is to coach and develop your team, and make sure the system is applied consistently so every shift runs smoothly.
