Apprentice Role Overview
As an Apprentice Hairdresser at Axis Salon, we will seamlessly integrate you into our team and set you up for success; immerse yourself in a career that is AI proof, with a genuine career pathway, learning a skill that will offer more than just working in a salon. You'll start with the fundamentals and foundational skills, processing to advanced techniques, while contributing to our salon's dynamic environment. This role is perfect for enthusiastic individuals at any stage of their apprenticeship, with opportunities to work alongside experienced stylists and colourists in a modern, client-focused setting.
Assistant Role Overview (for Adam Ciaccia)
This role will be filled by a successful applicant after the induction period has been completed to ensure that you can navigate your way around a new salon environment. Applicant must have a valid passport, be 18 years or older and be able to travel nationally and internationally to assist in shows, presentations and education workshops if required. Adam's assistant also works exclusively on his clientele performing styling and colouring services during salon hours.
Key Responsibilities
Assist senior stylists with client consultations, preparation, and services, including shampooing, blow-drying, colouring, and cutting under supervision.
Participate in daily salon operations, maintaining a clean and organised workspace while adhering to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Engage in ongoing training and education sessions, including in-salon workshops and external courses to build your skills.
Provide exceptional customer service, helping to create positive client experiences and building your own clientele over time.
Collaborate with the team to stay updated on industry trends, products, and best practices.
Attending weekly in-salon training and Tafe (if you're still required to attend)
Qualifications and Skills
Enrolled or eligible to enroll in a recognised hairdressing apprenticeship program (e.g., Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent).
A genuine interest in hairdressing, with a keen eye for detail, a creative mindset and a commitment to being the best person and hair professional you can be.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach.
Reliability, eagerness to learn, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Valid work rights in Australia (or eligibility for sponsorship/relocation support for international applicants).
No prior experience required for entry-level apprentices—we value potential and enthusiasm!
