Plant Operator/Labourer (Backhoe) - Water Services

Permanent Full Time Position

$69,996.00 per annum

Salary Classification: Level 5

Banana Shire is situated in Central Queensland, Australia located 120 km west of the growing industrial city and port of Gladstone - and an easy drive to the city of Rockhampton.

Our population is approximately 15,000 people spread over 28,577 square kilometres. Major industries in the area include Coal Mining, Power Generation, Beef Production, dryland cropping and irrigation such as lucerne and cotton.

Our urban centres and towns include Moura, Taroom, Banana, Baralaba, Dululu, Goovigen, Jambin, Thangool, Theodore, Wowan and Cracow.

The Opportunity

Banana Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join Council's Water Services Team. The successful applicant will support the water services team through the provision of labouring skills and the efficient operation of relevant plant. Water Industry experience is desirable but not essential.

Key Accountability and Responsibilities will include:

Perform general labouring duties

Operate backhoe, excavator and other plant to the required standard

Provide assistance to the team as required

Eligibility requirements

Mandatory Criteria

Queensland MR class driver's licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence)

Certificate of Competency – Backhoe

Desirable

Queensland HR class driver's licence

Plant ticket,s including but not limited to skidsteer loader, excavator and forklift
