We are searching for a sandwich chef and someone who can help us with our kitchen prep.

Butterken Bakery is a passionate bakery who is dedicated to handcrafting sourdough bread and other baked goods along with serving great fresh sandwiches all day long. We use local ingredients and operate in the heart of Mount Eliza in a glass bakery.

Position Overview:

Role: Sandwich Chef/ Kitchen Hand

Location: Butterken Bakery in Mount Eliza

Hours: 25-38 hours per week

Days: 3-5 days (We operate Tue-Sat ~ Which means no Sun or Mon work)

Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm

Your Day-to-Day:

Preparing and assembling a variety of sandwiches

Assisting in food preparation and cooking, following established recipes and guidelines

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace at all times, including cleaning equipment and dishwashing

Jumping in and helping FOH staff to clear tables and serve when applicable

Collaborating with all team members to ensure a smooth and efficient bakery/cafe operation at all times

Operating our company vehicle to deliver to key wholesale accounts

Must-Haves:

Prior experience in a similar food-related role is preferred

Passion for food and an eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency

Strong communication skills

Outstanding hygiene skills

A positive attitude

A current drivers licence
