What you need to know...
• permanent full time - 76 hours per fortnight
• the package: $75,103 to $89,561 plus superannuation per annum
• location: Grafton, NSW

Are you experienced in the civil construction industry and ready to take the next step in your leadership career? Clarence Valley Council is looking for a motivated and capable Foreman (Capital Works) to lead outdoor crews in the construction and maintenance of our road infrastructure across our region.
As a Foreman in our Civil Services, Capital Works team, you will:
- Lead and supervise construction teams
- Plan, organise, and deliver high-quality roadworks and civil projects
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards
- Oversee plant, equipment, and subcontractors on-site
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Provide strong leadership, training, and support to your team
You're a confident leader and skilled communicator who thrives in a hands-on role. You lead from the front, enjoy working outdoors, and are committed to delivering projects that make a real difference in the community.
What You'll Need:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in road construction or civil works
- Current Class C Driver's Licence (manual)
- WHS Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Sound Knowledge of plant operation and road construction equipment
- Strong organisation skills and computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance

Other important information
This position is located at Council's Rushforth Roads Work Depot, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
A probation period applies to this position.
