About the role

As a Plant Operator Civil Works, you will be responsible for operating Council’s major plant and machinery to carry out civil construction and maintenance activities across the local area. Your work will contribute directly to the safety, functionality, and longevity of public infrastructure, including roads, footpaths, drainage systems, and other civil assets.

You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver outcomes aligned with individual and team work plans. A strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality will be essential, as will your ability to follow procedures and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Remuneration

$69,070.04 - $75,163.92 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Essential Criteria

  1. Experience in operating and maintaining various plant including but not limited to backhoes, front end loaders, mini excavators and other load shifting plant.;
  2. Experience and capability to undertake infrastructure works including but not limited to concrete, asphalt, drainage, signage and street furniture construction and maintenance.
  3. Ability to read and apply work plans, and calculate quantities and set out works.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  5. Strong customer focus and work assignment flexibility;
  6. Current NSW MR Driving License
  7. Computer literacy enabling competency in the use corporate systems.
  8. Ability to keep accurate records and complete daily work orders and timesheets;
  9. Safework general construction induction card (white card).
  10. Commitment to EEO, WH&S and environmental principles

Desirable Criteria

  1. RMS Traffic Controller Ticket
  2. Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  3. Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent
