Hands-on Accountant role supporting project teams with financial reporting, cost control, and compliance across large-scale infrastructure works. You'll play a key part in streamlining processes and delivering accurate insights in a fast-paced environment.

Michael Page is partnering with a well-established Construction & Engineering contractor, renowned for delivering complex infrastructure projects across civil, mining, and marine sectors throughout Australia.

Description

• Prepare and manage financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Reconcile accounts, including balance sheets and general ledgers.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Assist with preparation and submission of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
• Create and maintain the fixed assets register and provide support for capital expenditure (CAPEX) procurements and disposals.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial data integrity.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant accounting standards and legislation.
• Support external audits by providing required documentation and information.

Profile

A successful Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
• The ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
