Job summary

In this role, you will be:

  • part of a team that works to reduce greenhouse emissions, and drive improvements in energy efficiency.
  • contributing to the administration of the largest energy efficiency program in Australia.
  • engaging with scheme participants and other government agencies to ensure the objectives of the VEU program are achieved.

Position details

The Compliance Analyst will:

  • conduct compliance investigations and site inspections into potential regulatory breaches.
  • research, gather and review evidence, analyse and interpret complex information to support the division's work.
  • draft correspondence, briefings, decisions, notices, industry guidance, papers and reports.
  • prepare recommendations for compliance and enforcement action.
  • provide project management support and manage aspects of projects.
  • work with accredited persons and scheme participants to remediate non-compliance and promote compliance.

This is a fixed term position until 1 September 2027. The work location for this position is 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:

  • making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
  • undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters.
  • administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
