In this role, you will:
- Work as part of a flexible, high-performing team responsible for monitoring and reporting on how energy providers are complying with consumer protection obligations and other regulatory requirements.
- Be responsible for identifying and addressing emerging issues, developing and implementing practical compliance solutions, and promoting best practices to support compliance with Victoria's energy rules and laws.
- Engage with energy providers and a broad range of consumer and community groups to drive improvements in compliance and inclusive and equitable outcomes for Victorian energy customers.
- Lead and implement proactive compliance solutions which aim to achieve better outcomes for Victorian energy customers.
- Work closely with your team to develop their skills and knowledge of the Victorian energy framework and market.
Position details
The position is responsible for:
- Managing and delivering compliance projects, responding to public enquiries, stakeholder engagement, monitoring industry trends, triaging matters for investigation and project work to support the Energy Division's strategic objectives. This includes raising awareness, clarifying regulatory obligations, developing guidance materials, and promoting improved compliance across the sector.
- Confidently representing the commission at meetings, forums, and committees, and collaboratively engage and influence key stakeholders within and outside the commission.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder management processes that contribute to the end-to-end delivery of the commission's organisational goals and key priorities.

Multiple ongoing positions available. The work location for this position is 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:
- making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes)
- undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters
- administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
