About Us: The South Australian Country Fire Service (SACFS) serves communities through dedicated volunteers delivering professional fire and rescue services to outer metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia. The SACFS is an all-hazards agency responding to bushfire, structure fires, road crash rescue and hazardous material spills. The Agency works alongside the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, the South Australia State Emergency Service and the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission, as well as with state and local government to help with strategies for fuel reduction and to educate the community about bushfires and fire safety. About the role: Are you ready to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of South Australians? We are seeing a dedicated, community minded individual to deliver community engagement programs and to support community capacity and resilience in relation to bushfire safety. As a Regional Community Engagement Officer, you will be based in the SA Country Fire Service Region 1 Office in Mount Barker, and work with a team of Regional Community Engagement Officers to deliver programs through-out Region 1. Primary Purpose of Role:

Deliver community engagement programs, to support community capacity and resilience in relation to bushfire safety.

Promote community engagement events and/or bushfire messages through appropriate media channels.

Represent the CFS at community events and provide resources and advice regarding bushfire prevention and risk management plans.

Contribute to the evaluation of community preparedness programs.

Participate in cross-agency committees and working groups.

Assist in the development of community engagement strategies and resources to ensure programs address identified bushfire risks.
