Seeking Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with experience with managing complex production deployments in Azure Cloud.

The Digital Services Division (DSD) is responsible for enabling information and communication technology (ICT) functions and activities in the Department. The Technology Infrastructure and Cloud Services Branch (TICSB) provides key services across a range of areas within the Department. These include support and management of core IT Systems, change management and IT vendor management.

The Platform Services section in the TICSB is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to undertake a range of activities including, but not limited to:

• Build Azure DevOps based pipelines and deploy/configure resources in the Department's Azure Subscriptions.
• Provide L3 support for business applications infrastructure hosted in AZURE, including server, firewall and web application firewall config and maintain.
• Contribute to design, development, and implementation of the Cloud Azure hosting platform.
• Manage virtual infrastructure and Cloud data factories in the Azure platform.
• Develop and maintain Terraform code libraries/modules using Agile processes.
• Provide support and guidance on critical Microsoft cloud services such as M365, Entra ID, Conditional Access and Intune.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Manage large-scale Azure deployments, optimizing performance and capacity.
• Apply infrastructure changes securely and promptly, following departmental IT change protocols.
• Coordinate with business owners on Azure applications and needs.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to support products and develop new offerings.
• Work with project managers and cyber teams for cost-effective, timely project delivery.

Technical skills

Administration and technical support/implementation of Microsoft M365, Copilot, Azure as well and configuring systems using APO/Bedrock/Terraform.

Essential criteria

1. Experience with managing complex production deployments in Azure Cloud.

2. Strong skills in administration of Microsoft cloud services such as M365, Azure, and Dynamics 365.

3. Experience in working with developers and business owners.

4. Experience working for the Federal Government with considerations to compliance with the IT security environment (Essential 8, etc.).

5. Experience in producing technical documentation for application deployment and infrastructure services.

6. Experience ensuring compliance and governance when managing infrastructure change requests in Federal Government.

Desirable criteria

1. Experience working with Azure Connect Hub.

Contract: 12 Months with 2 x 12 months extension option

Security Required: NV1 Security Clearance required

Location - Canberra, Hybrid based - This role has a mandatory requirement to attend the office in Canberra (Agriculture House) on a weekly basis, with a strong preference for a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. Flexible work arrangements for remaining days in the week are available
