APS6-EL1 Finance Officer

Randstad is seeking skilled and dedicated Finance Officers looking for new opportunities to join a dynamic teams within the Australian Federal Government. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance and providing critical financial advice to support decision-making at a high level.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and undertake complex financial tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end processes.

Provide accurate and timely financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Prepare and submit reports in compliance with the Commonwealth financial management framework.

Oversee financial systems and processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.

Assist with audit activities and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

For EL1 level, this includes leading a team, managing complex projects, and influencing strategic financial direction.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the public sector.

Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth financial management framework and relevant accounting standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Experience with government financial systems (e.g., SAP, TechOne) is highly desirable.

Tertiary qualifications in a finance-related field (e.g., Accounting, Commerce) are highly regarded.
