About the role

As the Academic Dean at Southern Academy of Higher Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic strategy and direction of this esteemed university. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for overseeing the institution's academic programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and driving continuous improvement across the curriculum. With a strong focus on academic excellence, you will work closely with faculty, staff and students to foster a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment.

What you'll be doing

Provide strategic leadership and direction for the university's academic programs and initiatives

Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of academic policies, procedures and standards

Collaborate with faculty to develop and enhance curriculum, learning outcomes and teaching methodologies

Manage the recruitment, development and performance of academic staff

Represent the university's academic interests to external stakeholders, such as accrediting bodies and industry partners

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning

Ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations and legislation

Contribute to the overall strategic direction and decision-making of the university

What we're looking for

Doctoral degree in a relevant academic field

Extensive experience in academic leadership, with a proven track record of driving positive change and achieving results

Minimum of 3-5 years of academic leadership experience required

Deep understanding of higher education, including curriculum development, teaching and learning, and academic governance

Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex academic challenges

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders

Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation and student success
