The Trustee for the ICTHM Trust has been responsible for running the International College of Management for close to 30 years. It is unique as a higher education provider at every level of the organisation – its culture, size, location, ownership and organisational structure, management and business model.
The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is seeking two academic leaders to join our academic community across our Manly and City campuses. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to high-quality programs, lead students and staff, and strengthen our industry-focused approach to higher education.
We are recruiting for two Program Managers to join the Academic Operations team on a 2-year fixed term, full-time basis:
- Program Manager: Business & Entrepreneurship
- Program Manager: Business Specialisations (Marketing, Fashion & Global Brand Management)
The Role
As a Program Manager, you will provide academic leadership and operational oversight for your allocated discipline. You will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality, relevance, and excellence of the programs, from course delivery to student experience and outcomes.
This is a key role, acting as the link between faculty, professional staff, and students. You will guide and support teaching teams, contribute to curriculum design and review, oversee academic quality assurance processes, and play an active role in student retention and success initiatives. Importantly, you will also foster strong industry engagement to ensure our programs remain future-focused and responsive to the needs of employers and the professions.
Program Managers are also expected to contribute to the broader academic life of the institution by engaging in scholarship and research, representing their discipline in governance processes, and mentoring academic staff to enhance teaching and learning practice.
Key Accountabilities:
- Academic Leadership: Provide clear direction for the allocated program(s), ensuring academic standards are maintained, educational excellence is promoted, and continuous improvement is embedded in teaching and learning.
- Program Oversight: Manage program planning and delivery, including timetabling, staffing allocations, and ensuring consistency across campuses, modes, and locations.
- Quality Assurance: Lead program and subject review cycles, ensuring compliance with institutional and external accreditation requirements. Evaluate student experiences and outcomes each term, implementing improvements as required.
- Student Success: Monitor student progression and retention across allocated courses. Oversee academic advising and consultation, ensuring students receive high-quality guidance and support. Lead initiatives that enhance the student learning experience.
- Teaching & Learning: Support and mentor academic staff, coordinate teaching teams, and ensure consistent adherence to academic policies and procedures. Embed innovative and industry-informed approaches into curriculum and assessment design.
- Industry Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, professional associations, and guest speakers to enrich the student experience and maintain program relevance.
- Scholarship: Contribute actively to the ICMS Scholarship Framework through leadership and participation in scholarly activities. Represent your discipline in institutional policy development and evidence scholarly impact through research and applied practice.
- Community Contribution: Actively participate in ICMS governance processes, contribute to open days, orientation, and institutional events, and represent ICMS as a leader in your field of expertise.
Selection Criteria:
- PhD (or PhD candidature) in a relevant Business discipline.
- Significant teaching experience across diverse student cohorts.
- Proven leadership in academic management in higher education.
- Business Industry experience and engagement with the professions in the fields of specialisations (Business, Entrepreneurship or Marketing and Fashion & Global Brand Management).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading collaborative teams.
