Hydrophis (https://www.hydrophis.eco/) are seeking an experienced part-time Sales Representative to join our team as we commercialise high-purity industrial minerals including magnesium hydroxide, precipitated calcium carbonate, and specialty salt products. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge products derived from innovative fly ash processing technology.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development: Build relationships with end-users across flame retardant, pharmaceutical, paint & coatings, paper, and food grade applications
Customer Education: Work closely with customers to understand their manufacturing processes and optimize product specifications for improved efficiency
Technical Sales: Collaborate with our chemistry team to provide application-specific solutions rather than generic products
Supply Chain Management: Develop packaging and delivery solutions tailored to customer requirements (25kg bags, bulk bags, slurry delivery)
Market Intelligence: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of customer applications, processes, and market dynamics
Essential Requirements
Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years in industrial minerals, specialty chemicals, or related B2B sales
Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand manufacturing processes and translate technical capabilities into customer value
Relationship Building: Proven track record of developing long-term customer partnerships
Market Knowledge: Understanding of Australian industrial markets with awareness of export opportunities
Highly Desirable
Experience with flame retardant materials, pharmaceutical grade products, or PCC applications
Knowledge of quality standards (European Pharmacopoeia, food grade specifications)
Existing relationships in paint, paper, or specialty chemical industries
Understanding of cost-based vs. price-based selling approaches
