About the Position

We are currently looking for experienced 2IC's/Leading Hands and Machine Operators to work within small teams of machine operators and labourers on small and larger scale concrete retaining wall construction sites. You will be a hands-on member of the construction team, with supervisory responsibilities.

Core duties include:

2IC/Leading Hands

Help coordinate and work within your team to meet production goals

Undertake quality checking and assurance processes

Manage on-site workplace health and safety

Monitor site to ensure appropriate processes are followed, leading by example

Provide appropriate support and training for on-site team members

Machine Operators

Boring holes to required footing depths

Follow project specific requirements for substrate types

Operate 5T, 20T & 40T excavators

Set up & load machinery

Machine maintenance, cleaning and quality checking

Ensure security of machines on site

Measuring and marking up site

Follow company health & safety guidelines

About You

To be successful in the 2IC/Leading Hand role you will be experience across all aspects of the construction process. As this is a hands-on role, a background as a labourer or machine operator on construction sites is essential. You will also require a current driver’s license and MUST hold a white card. A positive attitude, ability to work well within a team and strong communication and interpersonal skills will go a long way!

To be successful in Machine Operator role you will hold a current excavator ticket, skid steer ticket and/or front end loader ticket. You will also require a current driver’s license and white card. A positive attitude, ability to work well within a team and strong communication and interpersonal skills will go a long way! Experience is highly regarded but not necessary as on the job training will be provided. Exposure to the construction industry is highly regarded.
