An opportunity has become available with Better Vegetation Management Pty Ltd - Emerald QLD and surrounding areas for a Tractor Slasher Operator position for local mining sites.

We are looking for suitably qualified or experienced staff in the first instance, but strongly encourage keen, hardworking with a willingness to learn candidates apply also. Most show attention to detail and pride in their own work.

The key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Tractor Slashing

Green waste clearing and removal.

Operating commercial powered equipment e.g.: Mowers, Whipper Snipper, Hedge Trimmer, Blowers, chainsaws

Assist with fencing

Various other tasks as required

To ensure your success in this role, you must have or willing to learn:

Previous outdoor gardening experience preferred but not required.

The ability to work on a mine site and willingness to participate in all inductions, medicals and adhere to mine site drug/alcohol policies. (No smoking policy also applies to onsite work)

Previous use of gardening equipment (motorised hedge trimmers, whipper snippers, mowers, and herbicide sprays, chain saws preferred but not required.

Physically fit and able to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions especially heat.

A strong work ethic, reliable, punctual, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine love for working outdoors.

PPE, uniforms, and boots supplied.

Vehicle transport to work sites provided

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

A full driver’s license with the ability to drive a manual vehicle an advantage.

A great attitude and commitment to safety.

Flexibility of working either Casual full-time or part-time up to 50 hrs per week available if wanted. Monday to Thursday with the option of Friday shifts and occasional weekend work during peak times. (6.00am to 4.00pm or 7.00 to 3.00pm depending on site).
