Your new role
As an APS6 Finance Officer, you will lead financial operations and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial obligations. This role suits a finance professional with strong technical skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and a commitment to public sector values.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily and end-of-month financial processes using SAP FMIS, Concur, and Excel
• Preparing journals and leading key reconciliations (e.g. payroll, balance sheet, cashflow)
• Overseeing FBT and BAS lodgements to meet tax obligations
• Coordinating the preparation of annual financial statements and external reporting
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Finance
• Responding to audit requests and maintaining appropriate risk management practices
• Supporting management accounting and budgeting activities
• Interpreting relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to guide financial operations

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and lead financial processes
• Sound judgement, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality
• Australian citizenship (mandatory)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance and Working with Vulnerable People Card
