Job Description

Aurora Dairies are currently seeking a Senior Farm Hand or Farm Hand for a dairy farm in Parkham, located 15 minutes from Deloraine and and 45 minutes from Launceston in Northern Tasmania.

The farm is approximately 400Ha effective area with 310Ha under centre pivot irrigation, currently milking 1,300 cows, through a 60 bail rotary shed with ACR’s, auto teat spray and auto drafting. This farm is 100% Spring calving beginning in early August and we run Halter cow collar technology on this farm. The herd is medium frame quiet natured cow and the farm is predominantly pasture based with pellets fed in the dairy.

This role will include tasks the areas of:

• Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
• All aspects of milking.
• Animal husbandry.
• Pasture management.
• Machinery operation.
• Repairs and maintenance.
