Salary:

We offer a competitive Salary commensurate to experience.

AUD $76,000 to AUD $87,000 annually

About the Farm:

· Size: 311 ha

· 750 Cows (at development completion)

· 60-bail rotary milking shed

· Machinery Operation

· Predominantly pastures

· Pivot irrigation

· Calf Shed onsite

About you:

The Assistant Manager strives to fulfil the specified dairy production tasks by executing techniques to the highest standard. They will respectfully guide the team through proactive role modelling by their competent abilities, able skills and solid work ethic.

The person in this role will be a valuable team member, working together with colleagues to implement the agreed Farm Management Plan, completing all tasks as required. The Assistant Manager will understand the Farm’s targets and work to implement the activities that will mean the business can meet those targets.

Key Responsibilities:

· Fulfilment of the Farm Manager’s directions

· Team guidance with the Farm Manager, or in the Farm Manager’s absence

· Operational coordination of farm processes as directed by Farm manager

· Execute all tasks in a safe manner at all times

· Actively participate in the team and contribute to creating a positive team culture

· Overview of all farm operations

· Show strong planning and organising abilities, develop work plans to achieve objectives.

· Cooperate with other team members, establish priorities and work goals

· Work with others to develop their competencies.

· Milk harvesting, Animal husbandry and feed management and delivery

Qualifications and Skills:

· 2+ years of experience working on a Dairy Farm

· Fairy Farm operations; day-to-day functions as well as seasonal goals

· Efficient grass production and understanding of growth stages

· Hands-on experience working with cattle

· Ability to work both with and without supervision in a small team

· Excellent time management skills

· Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

· Reliable and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends
