Get Skilled Training is a leading, nationally recognised RTO delivering high-quality training in refrigeration, air conditioning, and electrical. Established 2012, we deliver UEE20120 Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems across Australia, Hydrocarbon Refrigerant Training, Test & Tag Training in multiple states, and Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in Brisbane.

Having proudly secured recent funding contracts in QLD and the ACT, we are expanding further into apprenticeship training and are now seeking a dynamic General Manager to support our next phase of growth in a newly created role.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the RTO, ensuring compliance, financial sustainability, and delivery of exceptional training outcomes. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational oversight with strategic planning, working closely with the Managing Director to expand our programs and grow our national presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily RTO operations across multiple departments.
  • Ensure compliance with ASQA standards and state/territory funding contracts.
  • Oversee training delivery, curriculum relevance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, engage and support the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Build strong industry, employer, and government relationships to drive growth.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Financial Controller on budgets and financial performance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and expansion into new markets.

About You
We are seeking a highly motivated leader with a strong background in RTO management. You will be hands-on, proactive, a natural problem solver, and able to balance compliance obligations with business growth priorities. You will be passionate about optimising teams and contributing to a positive company culture through people centered leadership.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
  • Senior management or leadership experience within an RTO.
  • Strong knowledge of ASQA compliance and funding contract management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations across training, compliance, finance, and HR.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Trade background in refrigeration, air conditioning, or electrical, or exposure to these trades would be advantageous.
  • Experience managing multi-site training delivery.
  • Familiarity with RTO systems such as Ammonite, WordPress, Monday.com, Jotform, Xero.
