Love the water and leading a team? As Team Leader at the Winchelsea Pool, you’ll make a splash this summer by running a safe, welcoming and fun facility for our community to enjoy.
You’ll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes - leading daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring our pool remains a vibrant and accessible hub, creating a great experience for our staff and pool visitors.
What you will bring to the role
We’re looking for a confident and energetic leader who’s passionate about community recreation and enjoys working in a people-focused, hands-on environment. You’ll be someone who leads by example, keeps safety front of mind, and knows how to bring out the best in your team.
To thrive in this role you will have:

- strong organisational skills to manage rosters, maintenance and daily operations.

Key selection criteria
Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements
- Pool lifeguard certification.
- HLTAID011 first aid qualification.
- Oxygen equipment award.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and maintain the operation of swimming pool plant and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply regulations, policies, guidelines and local laws relating to the safe overall operation of an aquatic facility.
- Sound knowledge of water chemistry and current legislation, regulations and recommended practices relating to the operation of aquatic facilities and pool plant systems.
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements on safety hazards and emergencies when responsible for the centre and consult with supervisor where further action or involvement of others is required.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively supervising and providing leadership to a team.
- Ability to work cohesively with a team.
- Effective organisational time management abilities in order to achieve the goals of the facility.
- Experience operating within a budget and reconciling purchases, payroll and deliveries
- A current Working With Children Check
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
