Environmental & Laboratory Solutions (ELS) is a customer-service focused, results driven, risk management consultancy based in Brisbane QLD. We provide a comprehensive range of health, safety, occupational hygiene, environmental and risk management consultancy services throughout Australia.

We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Manager to join a small friendly team in our NATA accredited Asbestos Identification laboratory.

Primary Duties:

Manage laboratory resources & environment (personnel, supplies, equipment etc).

Schedule and organise (undertake if required) calibration and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment.

Train and mentor the lab team to ensure correct analyses and procedures are always adhered to.

Ensure compliance regarding all things laboratory related (inputs, process, outputs) in conjunction with the Quality Manager.

Oversee and communicate daily operations with the laboratory team.

Conduct laboratory analysis as required.

Liaise with clients and consultants regarding test specifications and preliminary results.

About you:

2 years+ in a laboratory environment essential

Approved analyst for Asbestos Identification is required

Experience as a laboratory manager is desirable

Approved analyst for Fibre Counting is desirable

Science/Laboratory or HazMat type qualifications is well regarded

Have proven high level planning, organizing and time management skills

Can transmit instructions to others clearly and concisely

Has initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team

Can mentor and lead those around them using positivity and mindfulness
