The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal role at the heart of a dynamic and growing organisation. More than a standard in-house position, this is a chance to build and shape the legal architecture of the entire group. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be instrumental in driving the legal harmonisation of the diverse operating companies, leading the critical initiative to standardise contracts and processes.

Reporting to the Executive team, you will have significant autonomy and direct exposure to senior business leaders, with a clear mandate to create a best-in-class legal framework that supports the Group's ambitious strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of complex commercial agreements, including major customer and supplier contracts and tender documents.

Leading the development and implementation of a new suite of standardised contract templates and streamlined legal processes to drive consistency and efficiency.

Acting as a trusted legal advisor to business managers and commercial teams, providing practical guidance on contractual obligations, risk mitigation, and negotiation strategies.

Developing and managing a central contract database to ensure all agreements are effectively tracked, managed, and reported on.

Proactively identifying and implementing improvements to legal and contracting workflows to better support business needs.

Providing strategic advice and management of commercial disputes and pre-litigation matters.

About You

You are a proactive and commercially astute lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. A pragmatic and solutions-focused professional, you have a proven ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you will bring:

A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.

Post-qualification experience gained within a reputable law firm and/or an in-house environment.

Deep expertise in general commercial and contract law. Experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or complex sectors would be highly regarded.

Demonstrated experience leading process improvement or contract standardisation projects is essential.

The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of projects from inception to completion.
