About the position
Council’s Family Health Support Services Department is looking for a Community Transport Officer who will be responsible for filling casual shifts to drive the Community Bus to provide a safe, friendly and support service.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Driving the bus for the Community Transport program which takes passengers on regular trips to a variety of locations including shopping centres, senior clubs, the Frankston Library and the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre; and
- Driving the bus for the Outings program to a variety of destinations, and facilitating social connections for passengers with the support of a volunteer.
This is a casual role which will backfill the other bus drivers when they are on leave. Shifts vary each week/month dependent on staff leave, Monday through to Friday.
About you
- Current Victorian Heavy Vehicle Licence, minimum Light Rigid (LR) Category;
- Current driver accreditation to drive a commercial passenger vehicle issued by Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria;
- Level 2 First Aid qualification;
- Relevant computer knowledge and skills to support the team with rostering and client management;
- An understanding of working with frail aged people and people with disabilities; and
- Proven ability to take leadership in the culture on the bus, on all outings and in the office whilst maintaining appropriate and professional workplace behavior at all times.

This casual role is paid at Band 4 level A, currently remunerated at $47.15 per hour plus leave loading, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
