Posted 6 days ago
About ANMAC:
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) protects the health and safety of the Australian community by:
Establishing high quality education standards, assessing and accrediting nursing, midwifery and other healthcare education programs.
Assessing and validating the skills, qualifications and experience of overseas qualified nurses, midwives and health care workers to support their skilled migration journey.
We work to ensure every nurse, midwife and health care worker commencing work in the Australian community is a safe, culturally aware, and competent practitioner in accordance with current standards
ANMAC is the national Accreditation Authority for the nursing profession and the midwifery profession appointed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). As a part of this function ANMAC ensures the development of high-quality education standards and accredits and monitors education programs leading to registration as a nurse or midwife in Australia.
ANMAC assesses and validates the skills, qualifications and experience of nurses, midwives and other healthcare workers seeking migration to Australia and provides support to ensure an effective migration journey. ANMAC does this under the authority of the Australian Government.
Through Health Education Services Australia (HESA), ANMAC delivers broader high-quality education standard development and quality assurance of education programs and the professional practice experience of nurses, midwives and other health care professionals. ANMAC also provides executive and secretariat support to the Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council (AOAC).
Operating independently from the NMBA, Ahpra, and government departments, we are committed to maintaining the quality and integrity of Australia’s healthcare workforce. Our work is guided by the values of Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, and Respect.
