About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking an experienced CSSD Technician who is eager to take the next step in their career as a CSSD Coordinator. This exciting opportunity will be based at our Pimlico campus. This role will support our evening shift where you will be working Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm.
As the CSSD Coordinator at Mater Townsville, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services to CSSD stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include providing direct support, coaching, and education to technicians within the CSSD unit. With a focus on quality of services and future planning, you will be responsible for driving positive outcomes on a daily basis.
Salary range: $41.60 - $45.81 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Act as a technical expert within the CSSD unit, demonstrating specialized knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Townsville network and wider MML network to support daily operations and organizational activities.
- Foster positive relationships and cooperation with peers and colleagues across various units and departments to facilitate a seamless patient journey.
- Lead daily staff huddles/meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Implement and coordinate the education program for CSSD technicians.
About you
- Certificate III in Sterilisation
- Advanced knowledge of AS/NZS5369:2023 and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated people management and leadership experience in a CSSD setting.
- Experience in roster management and workforce planning in a healthcare environment.
- Strong focus on sustainable business outcomes while prioritizing patient experience and outcomes.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment skills in a fast-paced environment.
