About the role:

The Cyber Culture and Engagement Officer will assist the Manager Enterprise Cyber Security, Governance, Risk, Compliance and Awareness in creating a cyber safe department. You will use your knowledge and expertise of cyber security culture and project management methodologies to contribute to the development and running of awareness activities to engage and enhance the cyber awareness of departmental staff and where possible, key external suppliers. You will work in collaboration with stakeholders across the department to identify key issues, concerns and find solutions that helps support a robust cyber culture.

About you:

Can you Demonstrate?

  • Developing and executing an action plan to embed a cyber culture and achieve high user engagement across DH and DFFH that is aligned with the department cyber security strategy, the treatment of key department cyber/information security risks, regulatory obligation under the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and the WoVG Cyber Culture strategy.
  • Utilising different ways of communicating and promoting awareness of cyber security topic areas across DH, DFFH and other external parties as required.
  • Providing cyber security consulting services and advice in relation to info sec classifications, privacy impact assessments, security policies, and any cyber related concerns.
  • Research, analyse and bring together meaningful content to develop learning artefacts to promote the cyber culture program
  • Collaborating with other peers within the two department and across WoVG, to deliver awareness activities, share knowledge and experiences.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Qualifications

The following qualifications would be desirable:

  • A relevant IT degree or qualification.
  • Experience in Cyber Security Education.
  • Industry recognised certifications and/or training related to cyber security

Specialist Expertise

  • Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) including Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF).
  • The Australian Signals Directorate's (ASD) Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents and Top 8 Essentials.
  • Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework
  • Defence Signals Directorate Information Security Manual - Controls
  • ISO 27001/2
  • NIST
  • Proven experience in a similar role with demonstrated application of best practise information security frameworks, their development, application and appropriate alignment to risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of information security best practise and current and emerging industry trends.
  • Understanding and knowledge of:

Whole of Victorian Government information security policies and standards
