About the Role
Are you ready to do more than just “deliver HR”? At the City of Wanneroo, we’re building a future-focused P and C team that partners with leaders, challenges old ways of working, and shapes a thriving, inclusive culture for a growing community.
We’re looking for a confident and resilient People and Culture Business Partner – someone who can build trust with leaders, influence decisions, and deliver pragmatic, people-first solutions. This isn’t a “back office” role; you’ll be out in the business, helping leaders navigate change, mitigate risk, and drive engagement.
About you
- A track record of partnering with leaders to solve complex people challenges.
- Strong ER/IR knowledge and confidence with investigations, disputes, and compliance.
- Experience driving organisational change and embedding cultural initiatives.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to coach, challenge, and influence.
- HR qualification or equivalent experience, and a love for getting things done.
So… why join the City of Wanneroo?

- Choose between a 9 day fortnight, 19 day month or flexi time arrangement
- Start and finish times can be adjusted within a 7am–7pm span depending on your preferences and team needs
- Flex your week with a regular WFH day – we value focus as much as connection
Stability with Mobility
- Long Service Leave is portable across WA local governments
- Permanent roles, strong internal mobility, and sector-wide credibility
- A comprehensive development program with internal capability frameworks and access to funded external courses, workshops, and study leave
