Freya Cafe is very excited to be joining the Milton community. The newly built venue aims to provide high quality coffee, teas, bagels as well as fresh juice and smoothies.

Our vision is to create a space where people can sit and enjoy their morning brew, grab a fresh bite or even have a quick chat with our friendly staff.

Our leadership team has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry and plan to use this to ensure our team and customers have an enjoyable experience while in our venue.

Position Overview

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality specialty coffee as well as sales, stock rotation, cleaning, waste management, customer service and the training of our junior staff. They play a key role in delivering the premium coffee experience that defines Freya's and encourages returning customers.

What are we looking for in an ideal Candidate

We are seeking a passionate barista that loves making coffee (…obviously), interacting with customers, taking pride in their appearance and enjoys working as a team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and specialty beverages according to Freya's standards.

Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and service speed.

Engage with customers, providing recommendations and educating them on coffee origins and brewing methods.

Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.

Assist in retail coffee sales, explaining different blends and coffee subscriptions.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar and workstation.

Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

At least 2 years experience in high volume coffee making

Knowledge of changing grind, cleaning grinders and coffee machines, dosage changing etc

Consistent milk and latte art

Great work ethic and reliability

Top-notch communication and elite customer service

Eye for detail and self motivated
