Abbeyards Boarding Kennels is looking for an Animal attendant to join our small team!

The animal attendant's role is to consistantly provide the highest standard of care for the dogs and cats in our care and maintain the pristine kennel environment that Abbeyards is proud to be known for!

The position requires someone who can demonstrate their ability to control and care for all dogs from Chihuahuas to Great Danes.

Someone who flourishes in a busy workplace will suit this role perfectly. This is a very dynamic role and involves monitoring different dogs, ensuring their individual needs are met and a variety of other maintenance tasks on our large property including laundry, lots of cleaning, gardening etc.

Kennel work is a 365 day a year job and busiest during school holidays etc so flexibility is important. The successful applicant must be quick on their feet and be able to identify and complete tasks independently.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

We require someone with a very good work ethic and the ability to learn quickly with on the job training.

Previous work with domestic animals a bonus but not necessary!

Skills

Be able to be on the move all day!

Good at multi tasking

Be reliable and flexible (hours are subject to change).
• Have a Valid Driver's Licence and own transport.
• Ability to apply inititive to carry out tasks independantly and as a team.
• Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20kg.

• Attention to detail required to recognize and report health or behavioral issues among our dogs and cats.

Remuneration and Hours

Work Type: Permanent Part time

Thursday 6:30am - 12pm

Saturday 6:30am - 4:30pm

+10% super

Abbeyards works under an EBA so weekend penalty rates do not apply.

Work is permanent part-time so holiday pay is accumulated.
