Residential Care Officer

Salary: $77,000 per annum (plus super)

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Residential Care Worker to provide day-to-day care and supervision for children and/or people with disabilities in a group housing or institutional care setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting residents' emotional, physical, and developmental needs while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess the nature and extent of residents’ challenges and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress reports and daily notes.

Develop and implement support programs for residents.

Monitor the safety and well-being of the clients and report any concerns to the Manager.

Communicate with and provide support to residents and families

Work with community welfare agencies, other organisations and other staff on day-to-day and other matters related to residents’ safety and well-being as necessary.

Participate in performance development discussions to identify training opportunities.

Work with third-party organisations to spread awareness of community resources and services.

Skills & Experience Required:

At least 3 years of experience working in the disability or aged care sector.

Strong understanding of disability- and age-related health concerns.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and quality care.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritise workloads and respond flexibly to client needs.

Respect for cultural, spiritual, and personal values of clients and their families.
