About Mavben

Mavben is a family-owned business specializing in custom building services with a strong focus on in-house joinery. We provide comprehensive joinery packages to large builders, custom clients, commercial clients, and our own projects. Our expertise includes custom curved cabinetry and solid timber works such as benchtops, doors, and windows. We utilize Microvellum software, supported by our dedicated full-time draftsman, who produces detailed working drawings for factory construction. We are steadily growing and eager to welcome a new team member who shares our commitment to excellence.

The Role: Cabinet Maker Leading Hand

We are seeking a mature and experienced Cabinet Maker Leading Hand to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is a mix of hands-on work and leadership, requiring someone with proven experience in both factory production and on-site installation. You will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality in all our projects, from initial design concepts through to final installation.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-on Production (50%):

Cabinet construction in the factory.

Operating and maintaining woodworking machines, including an SCM CNC router.

Site installations.

Performing joinery and solid timber works, ranging from timber benchtops to custom doors (we are willing to teach if this is not a core skill).

Leadership & Management (50%):

Managing staff and trades.

Client liaison, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.

Implementing and overseeing quality control throughout all stages of a project.

Involvement from the very beginning of the design process, instructing project amendments, and assisting or managing installation teams to ensure perfection.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Significant experience in both factory cabinet making and on-site joinery installation.

A proven ability to manage staff and trades effectively.

Excellent client communication skills.

A strong understanding of quality control processes.

Previous experience in a leadership role, or as a self-employed joiner running your own business, with a clear understanding of project management from conception to completion.

A valid driver's license is required. Truck driving experience (car license only needed) is a plus.
