About the Role

Ryze Construction is seeking a Qualified Carpenter and an Apprentice Carpenter to join our growing team. Based in Melbourne’s Bayside and surrounding suburbs, we specialise in high-end residential renovations where attention to detail always comes before speed.

For the Qualified Carpenter, we’re looking for someone who is keen to step into a Leading Hand role over time. This could suit a recently qualified carpenter ready to take that next big step, or an experienced tradesperson looking for a fresh challenge.

For the Apprentice Carpenter, we welcome both school leavers and those already partway through an apprenticeship. You’ll work alongside experienced tradesmen who will take the time to teach you the trade from the ground up.

About Us

Ryze Construction focuses on high-end renovations for a highly regarded local builder, as well as managing our own projects. Our work ranges from small jobs - such as replacing weatherboards, building front fences, or installing new Colorbond roofing - through to large-scale projects like bathroom and laundry renovations, rooftop decks, and intricate pergola builds.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of carpentry and construction, including:

Setting out and framing through to final fit-off

Navigating the challenges of complex renovations

Managing apprentices and labourers

Working with clients and builders professionally

Keeping projects moving efficiently and on schedule

A genuine passion for the building trade and a drive to develop your skills

Willingness to observe, learn, and adapt

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

Reliability and punctuality

Great communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with clients and colleagues

A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
