A highly skilled senior-level Litigation Legal Assistant is sought to join a well-regarded mid-sized independent law firm, based in the heart of Melbourne’s legal precinct. Recognised as one of Melbourne’s most iconic practices, the firm prides itself on fostering a collaborative workplace culture, with a strong focus on employee well-being and support.

As the successful candidate for this role you will assume all facets of hands-on responsibilities by way of supporting a high-performing Partner with a focus on high-end Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and complex White Collar Crime.

The Litigation team is made up of about 20 staff, with your main support responsibilities being with the Partner, a Special Counsel and a junior Lawyer. There are three predominant 'must haves' for this role:

1. Solid experience (no less than 5 years) as a Litigation Legal Assistant or similar from within a private practice law firm;
2. Working knowledge and understanding of Litigation processes across varying Court jurisdictions; and
3. A great sense of humour - the Partner is a blast!

If successful, your responsibilities will include but will be no means limited to:

• Preparing Court documentatopm and handling correspondence;
• Preparing Affidavit material and Briefs for Counsel;
• Ensuring you remain one step ahead and have all required files and documents prepared prior to Partner's meetings & court appearances;
• Keeping up-to-date with upcoming Court dates and deadlines;
• Diary management and coordination of meetings, seminars and travel;
• General administrative duties including billing, opening/closing files, filing and time sheets.
