Randstad is seeking a talented and motivated APS6 Physical Security Systems Officer to play a crucial role in safeguarding government assets and information. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a critical area of public service, directly contributing to the security of an Australian Federal Government department. You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing physical security systems and infrastructure across sites nationwide, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all staff.

What You'll Do:

Manage Security Projects: Assist in delivering a range of security projects, from complex cross-divisional initiatives to smaller, hands-on tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Maintain Security Infrastructure: Take responsibility for the maintenance and operation of various security systems, including electronic access control, intruder and duress alarms, CCTV, and key management systems across all properties.

Develop Strategic Frameworks: Contribute to the preparation and management of strategic security frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Provide Expert Advice: Offer security advice on compliance and building standards, ensuring all physical security measures meet the required government guidelines.

Prepare Reports and Briefings: Draft reports and briefing papers to support the planning, certification, and accreditation of departmental facilities.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in managing and delivering projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

Demonstrated experience with the operation and management of physical security system technologies (e.g., access control, CCTV, alarms).

A strong understanding of, and experience applying, Commonwealth Government security requirements, particularly the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Sound judgment and a flexible, outcome-focused approach to work within a dynamic team environment.
