About Us
Smart Healthcare Pty Ltd is a nationally recognised distributor of premium massage and wellness equipment, operating a growing network of company-owned retail stores and independent franchise outlets across Australia. Our products are designed to enhance everyday wellbeing through innovative, accessible, and safe technologies.
We are committed to delivering exceptional in-store customer experiences, with a strong emphasis on product education, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and compliance-conscious Training and Development Professional to take the lead in designing and delivering structured training programs for our sales teams and franchise partners.
This position focuses on ensuring safe, customer-centred product demonstrations and maintaining operational boundaries between commercial use and therapeutic practice. While the successful candidate will draw on their prior experience in massage therapy to inform training content, this is not a clinical or therapeutic position, and the role does not involve teaching massage therapy or authorising its delivery.
A formal qualification in massage therapy is required to inform training content development.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Our Training and Development Professional will:
1. Training needs analysis
Identifying knowledge and conduct gaps relating to product use, customer interaction, and potential health risks.
2. Develop learning programs
Developing measurable learning objectives, e-learning content, visual guides, manuals, and "do and don't" protocols aligned with consumer protection legislation.
3. Delivery and Coordination
Delivering in-person and remote training sessions to retail and franchise staff on safe use of massage equipment, interaction boundaries, and correct demonstration procedures.
4. Compliance and Risk Mitigation
Reinforcing no-contact rules, monitoring training adherence, and preventing misrepresentation of product capabilities.
5. Ongoing Evaluation
Auditing in-store practices, providing corrective coaching, and maintaining a central training register.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• A bachelor degree or higher in education, health sciences, training and assessment, or another relevant field; OR
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in adult education, workplace learning, or product demonstration training in the wellness or retail sector.
Australian citizenship is required for this position.
In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven experience of at least three (3) years in designing and delivering training;
The ability to develop and implement training content aligned with consumer protection obligations, equipment safety protocols, and professional conduct standards;
Familiarity with risk mitigation practices for customer-facing health-related products, as well as a clear understanding of ethical limitations that separate commercial demonstration from regulated therapeutic services.
Legal and Regulatory Safeguards
This role operates strictly within non-clinical boundaries. The Training Officer:
Does not supervise or teach massage therapy;
Ensures staff do not physically touch customers or provide therapeutic advice;
Reinforces that all product demonstrations are non-diagnostic and limited to manufacturer-approved settings;
Ensures customers are advised to seek medical guidance where appropriate;
Prevents staff from implying that products treat or cure medical conditions.
Why Join Us?
At Smart Healthcare, you'll be part of a forward-thinking business that values integrity, safety, and education. You'll work across a dynamic national network, contribute to a unique retail wellness offering, and play a key role in upholding ethical product engagement standards in a growing industry.
