About MoVida
MoVida is a Spanish Tapas restaurant that has three venues in the Melbourne CBD and are run by Executive Chef Frank Camorra, who pioneered Spanish Cuisine in Melbourne. MoVida offers both modern and traditional Spanish food, in a warm and casual environment with professional service.
We have a full time position for a Commi Chef available within the group. MoVida venues do trade across seven days a week so you may be required to work weekends, we do however ensure that our team has two consecutive days off each week.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a similar role
Ability to work well under pressure
Have initiative and be self motivated
Formal training is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
Quality and cost control
Deliver excellent customer service
Follow workplace occupational health and safety procedures at all times
Examine all deliveries to ensure quality and product consistency
Preparing and cooking food, minimising food wastage
Cooking and plating up food consistent according to the recipe, making sure the quality of the food meets our expectations
Designing new dishes for the menu
Adjusting and modifying dishes for dietary requirements and allergies
Ensure stock is controlled and rotated and food is stored appropriately
Assist with ordering food from suppliers and monthly stock takes
Assist with maintaining food and labour cost targets
Use all kitchen equipment correctly, regulating temperatures and reporting any problems or damage
Assist with training new and apprentice staff, including demonstrating cooking techniques
