Hope Earle Lawyers is a dynamic and growing law firm with offices in Melbourne and the Gold Coast. We are known for our strong culture, innovation, and commitment to delivering outstanding legal services across Family Law, Wills & Estates, Property, and Commercial Law.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our firm and support the Managing Principal and Board in achieving the firm’s strategic goals. This is a 3 day per week, in-office role based in Melbourne. There may be occasional travel to our interstate offices.

The Role

As General Manager, you will:

Oversee daily operations across the practice, ensuring efficiency and compliance with legal and professional obligations.

Lead HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and fostering a positive and high-performing culture.

Work closely with the Managing Principal and senior leadership team to implement strategic initiatives.

Partner with the Financial Controller to monitor KPIs, budgets, and reporting with a focus on efficiency and growth.

Support staff wellbeing and professional development across all offices.

Drive continuous improvement in systems, policies, and processes.

About You

Previous experience as a General Manager, Practice Manager, or similar senior operational role in a professional services firm (law firm experience strongly preferred).

Strong HR capability — able to manage recruitment, staff performance, and workplace culture.

Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.

Financial acumen and comfort working with budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting.

A collaborative style with the confidence to work closely with partners, lawyers, and support teams.
