About the role

Applications are being sought for a permanent part time, motivated and organised Coach Dispatch Coordinator to join our Coach Operations Department in Cairns. This permanent part-time role is central to the smooth and safe running of our passenger transport services between Cairns and Port Douglas. The position combines operational coordination with hands-on support, including managing drivers, assisting with maintenance, driving as needed and providing outstanding customer service.

Reporting to the Coach Manager your key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating daily coach operations and dispatch schedules

• Supervising and supporting a team of experienced drivers

• Liaising with passengers and drivers to ensure timely transfers

• Managing operational issues and problem solving calmly under pressure

• Accurate data entry, reporting and general administration

• Assisting with vehicle breakdowns, recovery and roster changes as required

• Driving coaches and working on vessels as operational needs demand

• Transport of passengers between Cairns and Port Douglas

• Basic workshop/ maintenance duties

• Customer service on board our vessels

About you

• HR Licence and Drivers Authorisation

• Provide First Aid Certification (desirable)

• Excellent knowledge of Cairns and Port Douglas accommodation

• Strong communication skills (radio, phone and written)

• Proven ability to lead a team, work unsupervised and made sound decisions quickly

• Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to assist with maintenance and recovery

• Competent computer skills with accurate data entry

• Flexibility with roster changes, including working weekends and public holidays

• Customer service focused with a professional and approachable manner
