To support a new wave of major energy network projects, we have a unique opportunity for a Head of Engineering to join this Tier 1 infrastructure contractor during the tender phase of key projects across Australia's energy transition.

You’ll play a lead role in shaping the next generation of major Transmission & Distribution projects – think Renewable Energy Zones, 500kV Substations, and Overhead Transmission Lines.

Your focus will be on the overall leadership, coordination, and development of internal and external engineering within major projects.

This contractor has delivered some of the most complex infrastructure projects in the country and offers a rare chance to be involved at the front end of bidding and delivery for pivotal energy transition projects.

Key responsibilities for the Head of Engineering:

• Provide technical leadership for engineering during the tender phase of projects
• Foster a culture of teamwork within the engineering team and across the wider business
• Lead the selection and collaboration with external design partners, fostering strong working relationships
• Assign key personnel and conduct peer reviews and technical audits
• Drive engineering’s contribution to business development, including building client relationships
• Lead staff training and support ongoing professional development

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience as a Senior/Engineering Manager on major energy infrastructure projects (HV, Substations, Transmission Lines
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., BSc Engineering)
• CPEng or eligibility to obtain
• Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering institution (e.g., Engineers Australia)
