Are you a skilled diesel mechanic looking for your next opportunity in a dynamic and supportive workshop environment? Alfabs is on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our Mining Equipment Division in Unanderra.

Specialising in Repairs and Overhauls of the Latest Mining RTV Fleet, Alfabs service both internal and external customers with equipment for QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move, and Material Handling Equipment, our department designs and manufactures custom-built machinery to meet the unique needs of our mining clients.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Reporting directly to the Workshop Supervisor
• Performing pre-start inspections and routine maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs on a variety of diesel-powered mining equipment, including LHDs and Drift Runners
• Replacing or refurbishing components as part of planned maintenance
• Maintaining a safe and efficient worksite while identifying opportunities for improvement
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and safety standards

What You Bring:

• Trade qualification as a diesel mechanic or similar
• Previous experience with underground or surface mining equipment (highly desirable)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive work ethic
• Excellent communication and a team-first attitude
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & drug screening
• Forklift licence (preferred)
• Other relevant tickets or licences are a bonus!
