About Us :

Toora Women is a not-for-profit organisation that has been delivering gender-specific services to women in the ACT and surrounds since 1982. Our purpose is to support, connect and advocate for Canberra women who are impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, institutions and substance dependency to create better life outcomes and community change.

Toora helps women, trans women, and other feminine-identifying people living with trauma through experiencing any combination of:

Homelessness

Domestic violence

Alcohol and substance dependency, and

Connection with the corrections system.

Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings, such as crisis support, transitional accommodation, day programs, counselling including parenting counselling through ParentLine, and outreach support.

About You :

Diploma level qualification in relevant field (AOD, Community Service or Mental Health) and 5 years’ sector experience

Bachelor level qualification in relevant field (Social Work, Social Science, Health or Psychology) and 3 years’ sector experience

Position Summary :

The Case Coordinator (CC) will possess specialized AOD expertise and knowledge to work towards alleviating the effects of AOD dependency and its contributing factors through the provision of service delivery to women accessing the Toora AOD programs. This position will provide variety of service delivery support to single women or women with accompanying children, who are accessing the Day Program, supported accommodation or outreach services.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Case Coordinator (CC) will possess specialised AOD expertise and knowledge to work towards alleviating the effects of AOD dependency and its contributing factors through the provision of service delivery to women accessing the Toora AOD programs.

This position will provide variety of service delivery support to single women or women with accompanying children, who are accessing the Day Program, supported accommodation or outreach services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CAPABILITIES

Provide crisis, transitional and outreach support to women who are accessing AOD Services within a case management framework, including developing case management plans.

Maintain a designated caseload of clients with complex or co-morbid presentation utilising specialist skillset, set autonomous priorities and monitor workflow.

Plan, coordinate and facilitate women’s groups and projects, including budgeting and allocation of resources, as directed.

Demonstrated capacity to work with challenging behaviours and crisis situations.

Be committed to providing quality programs and excellent services and support that represent leadership and innovation.

Well-developed communication skills with an ability to adapt communication to suit diverse stakeholders

Able to build strong relationships and work cooperatively, identifying and overcoming barriers to collaboration.

Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage own emotions even in difficult situations.

Resilient and adaptable, able to respond to challenges in a positive manner and be flexible to change.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
